          What are Mandalas?

The dictionary defines a mandala as any of various ritualistic geometric designs symbolic of the universe, used in Hinduism and Buddhism as an aid to meditation. Mandala is Sanskrit for circle, polygon, community, or connection. Explore the Mandala to learn more about historical Buddhist Mandalas.

          Kaleidoscope Paper Mandalas

The basic structure of most traditional mandalas are eight sided.  Paper mandala images are symmetrical, mostly eight sided geometrical, computer enhanced kaleidoscope artworks.  Every so often I go through Scissorcraft images and the kaleidoscope feature of my art program to the images, just to see what wonders can be revealed. The best results end up here.

If you have a computer art program, any image or photograph can easily be transformed into a kaleidoscope mandala.

Mandalas may be used for relaxation and entertainment purposes or to teach geometric symmetry. Many people use mandalas for spiritual purposes such as with meditation and rituals.

Escape from the fast lane for a while and relax by printing out collections of these pretty images and just color the day away. Sounds nice doesn't it?  Print a collection for the next family gathering or long trip in the car.  A creative vacation from e-life.  Enjoy.
